Patrick has taken off with his role as Intern Director. I don't think he even realized what a great teacher he is and what a great leadership role God has placed on him. (This from a man who, for his whole life, shied away from leadership.)
We are again so blessed with rich relationships /friendships here in Calgary. In some ways, it doesn't feel like we've ever left.
Now, I bet you're wondering about the picture above. We are living with our host family, Michele, Kevin and their 2 girls Talia and Kaisa. (See link from my blog for more info) Their home backs onto the Bow River. So....this other little family lives behind us and they can get mighty upset if we have to walk along their path. (Yes, it is their path or so they think). Pat has had some run ins with the "DAD" ie. flying at his head and trying to peck him.
This morning I had to walk to the office...not far but it included the geese family's territorial path. I almost turned tail and went the long way around when a young teenage lad walked by me. I asked him how he gets by our little terrors. As I walked behind him, he showed me the tricks of those nasty BIG geese with their babies. He put his backpack in from of him, and proceeded to make wierd ghostly sounds. So....I copied him. Picture this , if you will, we are walking on the path, flapping our packs, whooping and hollering like banshees AND (no surprise), the geese moved out of our way. Yippee!
